Massive search operation launched in Sopore, outskirts

Sopore, August 20: Security forces have launched a massive cordon and search operation (CASO) in north Kashmir’s Sopore and its outskirts on Friday morning.
An official told ‘Kashmir Vision’ that joint forces of army, CRPP and police have cordoned entire Sopore town and all markets and roads were sealed.
He said that all entry and exit points leading towards the main town have been sealed.
Local reports said that transport and pedestrian movement has also been stopped by forces and people are being disallowed to move.
Reports said that the Srinagar-Baramulla highway has also reported deployment of troops right from Haigam.
Meanwhile SP Sopore Sudhanshu Verma also confirmed the CASO and said that search operation has been launched on the basis of information about the presence of militants in the town.
