Kulgam: In absence of an approach road, a bridge completed five years is lying out of use in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Locals said that a bridge was constructed at Nassu Badragund on Nala Sandran in Kulgam district but the constructing agency did not prepare an approach road leading to the bridge.
They said that the construction was completed in 2015 and around Rs. 6 crore was spent on the project.
They said that as authorities have failed to construct approach road, the bridge has proved to be useless for the people.
The locals complained that the bridge would be useful only if an approach road is constructed towards the bridge so that locals can avail the use.
They said that authorities have to construct just few 100 meters of the road to connect the bridge to Dooru road on one side and Anantnag road on the other side.
“It is quite surprising that concerned authorities have failed to resolve the matter for the last five years”, they added.
They said that if the road will be connected with Dooru and Anantnag roads, it will be easy for locals to reach Anantnag and Dooru besides that they can get rid of frequent traffic jams on Dooru road.
Locals have appealed to the concerned authorities to pay attention towards the issue and build an approach road so that the bridge can be used by the common people.
