Locals demand immediate repairing

Pulwama: Residents of Zampathri, Washoo and adjacent villages in Keller hamlet of Shopian are up in arms against the government for failing to provide proper road connectivity to the area.
The slogans of providing all basic facilities to the people of Jammu and Kashmir are proving just a hoax as even in 21st century thousands of people are struggling on daily basis in absence of road connectivity, locals rued.
They said that some years back even the locals contributed some money also for the construction of the road stretch but only after the work was pursued, it was stopped altogether.
Since then four years have passed the road is lying in shambles and no attention is being provided towards its development, they said.
“We are always being made scapegoats by politicians who often come here and get votes but never focus on the real needs of the people,” they said.
“It is quite amazing that the people have to beg for road connectivity and even after begging no attention is being provided towards the area and our needs,” they rued.
“We have carry our patients, elderly people, pregnant ladies and children on our shoulder especially during winter months in absence of proper road connectivity,” they said
They requested higher authorities to look into the matter at an earliest and provide proper road connectivity to the area.
