Two gamblers held in Ganderbal: Police
Srinagar: Police on Thursday arrested two gamblers from a gambling site and seized stake money from their possession, a police spokesman said.
He said that acting on specific information, a police party from Police Post Shadipora raided a gambling site in forest area of Authkhuroo, Shadipora following an input about gambling activities and apprehended two gamblers.
They have been identified as Fayaz Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Nabi Bhat resident of Wanipora, Saloora and Ghulam Hassan Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat resident of Reshipora.
Officers have seized stake money of ₹2800/- and playing cards from the gamblers. They have been shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody, the spokesman added.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 143/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Ganderbal and investigation has been initiated, he added.
