District Volleyball Championship concludes
Sopore: The District Volleyball championship concluded on Thursday here in north Kashmir’s Sopore area. The championship was organised by District Volleyball Association Baramulla in association with Nowpora Kalan Sopore volleyball association.
The championship started on 26th of July and concluded Thursday at mini Sports Stadium Nowpora Kalan Sopore.
The concluding function/Prize distribution was attended by SP Sopore Sudhanshu Verma-IPS and other Police and Civil Officers.
A total Number of 16 Volleyball teams from District Baramulla participated in the event, an organizer said.
The final was played between Johama Volleyball Club and Kanispora Volleyball Club but Johama Volleyball Club stole the show by winning the final match.
SP Sopore, Sudhanshu Verma-IPS and Incharge Police Post Fruit Mandi SI Shams ud din and other members of District Volleyball Association distributed cash prizes/trophies to the winner and runner up teams.
After the culmination of the presentation ceremony, while interacting with the participants, the SP expressed immense happiness with the sports activities being conducted in the District Baramulla from time to time.
District Volleyball Association Baramulla promised that many more such events would be organised in future also and Association would make all the efforts it can, in encouraging the sports talent of the District.
