Beautiful little work

Navreen Tabassum Bhat

As I stepped down the lap of my mother
The flattering steps of a toddler I didn’t bother
As the time rolled by
I grew up. Didn’t cry
Then my mother dear
Whose finger I hold
Took me to a beautiful world
Kindergarten she told
I knew not the world so huge
Will change me years to come
Steadily, I started learning things
Round me I found
Had developed Well-built wings
Now it was no longer a prison like
A world so saccharine for values to like how affectionate
And how caring the world was
I salute them as I have a cause
Now it was no longer a prison like
A sweet beautiful world dew like
Where first I was so scarred
For me they all were prison master
They taught me like their own child
Cultivated in me the values as golden
To them I own a lot
Can’t repay them as I learnt
God bless them for all they did,
Reared me since I was a kid
