Amid soaring temperature, Anantnag village faces shortage of potable water
Anantnag: Amid the ongoing heat wave, the residents of Palpora village in Dailgam hamlet of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district are up in arms against the Jal Shakti department for failing to provide drinking water supply to the area.
Locals alleged that Jal Shakti Department has failed to provide scheduled drinking water supply to the area.
They said that they are facing acute shortage of drinking water supply in village but authorities have failed to restore water supply despite many reminders.
They alleged that they have brought this issue to the notice of concerned department several times but the department hasn’t paid any heed to their pleas.
Locals have appealed the authorities to look into the matter to provide them the scheduled drinking water at an earliest so that they won’t face such problem anymore.
The locals alleged that they are facing the shortage of potable water quite often and the authorities are not taking any measures to end the hardships faced by the residents.
They also added that water crisis has become one of the major issues in the village.
The locals once again appealed to Deputy Commissioner Anantnag to look into the matter and solve the problem at an earliest.
When contacted the concerned AEE Jal Shakti Departmnet, Aijaz Ahmad said that they have taken cognizance of the issue and very soon the issue will be addressed.
