The four month’s Kharooj in Dawah
Sheikh Arshid
The fast-growing Dawah in Islam, which started in 1926 in Mewat province by Islamic scholar Maulana Muhammad Ilyas, coupled with strict guidance of Aalimi Markaz Nizamuddin at Delhi, has started to knock the door of every believer in Muslim world.
Tablighi Jamaat is an itinerant movement that goes door to door, village to village, area to area and even spread to other parts of the world, tries to revert what they call ordinary Muslims into believing Muslims and revive their faith in Islam. In the world where crores of ordinary believers revived their Islam as complete religion and become stronger than ever in faith and devotion.
Tableegi jammat largely believes in fundamental rights of Islam and to become strict adherence of them following the path of Suhabah (Companions of Prophet Muhammad SAW). The followers proselytise these basics among all believers whosoever is approaching towards Islam and with the extent of time change into extremists.
In fact, it should be called the “Tehreeki Eeman”, without any differentiation of caste, creed and colour that promotes peace and prosperity among the human beings and doesn’t having any constitutional or formal registration with any organisation. This only believes that every human being must be embraced with the peaceful mission of Islam to know the strength of truth, justice and equality.
As a part of the Tableegi Jammat happened to be associated with the movement I started next four months mission of “kharooj” in the path of Almighty Allah along with other followers, from Kuchmulla. On the 10th day of June Upto Zuhar Nimaz I was alone in the nearby Peer Masjid at Kuchmulla and was joined by Yawar Bayee along with other few followers. We stayed together there in the Masjid for at least three days and started our four months journey. The follower Yawar Bayee a very young and versatile guy, was leading from the front as “Ameer” of the small Jammat.
In the Tableegi Markaz of Tral where high profile “Akabir” from Markaz Nizamuddin Delhi has delivered the lecture on ” How to do Dawah ” accompaniment with the life style of Suhabah”. I was deeply inspired by their speech and we sat together as small jammat in different programmic majlis’s and got ourselves ready to go in the Kharooj. Our first “rukh” was to Dhobiwan Tral, a small village five kilometres away from Sub district Tral.
The Dawah has its own secret issue which one can understand only in the path of Almighty Allah without suspecting in any way. Our small jammat has started to work hard, went door to door and Alhamdulillah the movement though viewed small was helped from every angle of incidence of Dawah.
We started the way while doing the Dawah with direct interaction with the common people especially those who have been with Dawah work in past. It has been found that some people at our stay were become the active participants during the day especially in Taleem, Mulakat or Gusht.
It is an integral part of the Dawah to develop intimate links with the common people whether “Worshipers or non Worshipers” aim to come alive with that what is the reality of Islam. People are brought in from their homes while doing Dawat- Taleem- Istekbaliya which creates an opportunity to show them the potential way of Dawah and its need in the current times without any suspicion or inclination towards the particular sect. Deeply immersed with the life style of common people while in second rukh we try to protray real image of Islam without involving in counter-argument.
The Jamaat tries to replicate the way Muslims lived in the time of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). We dress up as per sunnah along with new comers in Dawah work. We have made a schedule usually to carry few necessary items like miswak (teeth-cleaning twig),voil of Ater, comb, small dairy, pen, Rosary, hanki, booklet of Dua and just prefers to be selective and targetted in Dawah which help us to revive the basics of Islam gradually.
Everyone of the jammat has come to join the jammat to pay for his own expenses. When someone spends from his own pocket, it senses the small sacrifices in Dawah that can lead to big sacrifices.
The Tablighi Jamaat has a hierarchical network as there is an Ameer whose advice is sought by everyone. As an elder member of the small jammat I strictly follow the advices and instructions of Ameer, Yawar Bayee.
Whenever we feel any matter of urgency or which needs counsel then every member of the jammat comprise with the mushwara or the council. Younger members try to understand the importance of Dawah and work in bands and go to different destinations of preaching what they have been taught. There is a daily mashwara (gathering) in the Masjid for planning the daily activities of Dawah. Most importantly we stressed on the work of progress of masjid that the number of worshipers must be increased and also shift the responsibility of Imam and other responsible members of the Masjid.
It is not just men who travel on missions to spread the word of Islam, but the women too, albeit on shorter trips and even every muslim brother should send children to the maktab to learn Quran and Hadith at their young age. This overall forfeits every corner of the society and can be prevented from any attack of Saitan. At home the family must be involved in “Taleem” in which every member needs to understand the importance of Islam. In a successful attempt we persuaded the common people of new colony Zahoor Abad of kuchmulla, where they opened a new maktab for children and adult girls. This has brought a new scene of the act while work in Dawah.
In Dawah work “we not only learn how to offer prayers but also understand how our religion teaches to be good human beings. We are taught not to ever steal, not to lie, to be patient, to forgive and seek forgiveness and not to envy anyone,” while spending the active time with the jammat.
Money in life does not work every time but peace at soul is basically a great healing to all frustrating activities. This can be achieved only by abiding to the principles of Islam that too is very fruitful when you are away from home during kharooj.
In current times, the most successful revivalist movement for a beleaguered Muslim minority has transformed the ordinary muslim men into strong believers of Islam. The Dawah work strictly apolitical urges members of the society to undertake a personal spiritual journey in the manner of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and his followers.
Their task is to travel to spread the word to fellow Muslims – from village to village, masjid to masjid – so that more are brought into the fold. Inshallah the day is not far away when everyone will be strong believer of Islam without any filthy activity.
