2nd July 2021 was a mournful day for whole Accounts fraternity across J&K. on this doleful day one of our upper rung officer Mr. Rafiq Hajam, Director, Finance Medical Education Department left for heavenly abode. His abrupt death dispatched shuttering shocks throughout whole Accounts fraternity.
Born in a village of Pulwama district of South Kashmir Mr. Rafiq Sir, KAS officer of 1999 batch was having unblemished character. Accounts fraternity J&K will indeed cite his example as a role model for times to come. Helpful attitude, sober habits and excellent personal qualities were his treasured possessions.
In his early childhood, he demanded convincing arguments for every proposition and had a great attraction for spiritual matters. With these qualities of head and heart he grew into a vigorous youth. He had the built of an athlete, a resonant voice and a brilliant intellect. Among his colleagues he was an undisputed leader of Accounts fraternity.
His inborn tendency towards unflinching faith in Allah had made him a God fearing soul. He wanted his young cadre members to grow like a huge banyan sheltering thousands from the scorching misery. The appeal of his simple words of burning sincerity, his great personality and his bright countenance described him as the greatest figure in the whole Accounts fraternity.
Born not with a silver spoon in his mouth, he had indeed laboured hard to crack the KAS examination in 1999. Rafiq sir, was an officer who possessed infinite energy, infinite zeal, infinite courage and infinite patience to tackle the bump trips of Accounts cadre. His character and greatness came to the lime light in the face of difficulties and hardships. His indomitable will, boundless courage, wise and realistic approach to the problem was note worthy. He was sympathetic and his chastening influence was felt by the meek and the weak.
Certainly in the tragic death of Rafiq sir, Accounts fraternity has lost a leader of unwavering dedication and consistent brilliance. The whole Accounts fraternity owes a great debt of gratitude to this great officer. His selfless services for the Accounts fraternity and the sympathetic approach towards the downtrodden will reverberate for times to come. Let us all continue to uphold the noble values that Rafiq sir, had taught us during his entire service.

Rafiq Sir, we measure your qualities not by the size of brain but by your modest thoughts. May your noble soul and the souls of all the departed through the mercy of Almighty rest in peace. May Allah protect you from the torment of the grave. Aameen- suma Aameen
