Say graduates should also be considered

Pulwama: Scores of aspirants of recent Class IV recruitment on Wednesday staged protest outside district development commissioner’s office in Pulwama demanding that the government must allow candidates with higher qualification to apply for the vacancies.
They said that recruitment process is going on under SRO 99 of 2008 where there is clear cut direction that 10th pass should be minimum and 12th class pass maximum qualifications for Class IV recruitment.
The protestors said that all higher qualification aspirants should be allowed to take part in the recruitment and no weightage should be given to higher qualification so that all get an equal opportunity to secure a job.
They alleged that they were considered part of the selection process but have been directed to submit an affidavit mentioning that they have no higher qualifications.
They said that authorities must ask them to submit an affidavit mentioning that they won’t demand any weightage for higher qualification.
They said that dozens of aspirants with higher qualification are about to cross the upper age limit for getting a government job and this recruitment is their only chance to manage a job.
They requested higher ups to look into the matter at an earliest and save the future of the aspirants
