BHSS Uri Baramulla organises virtual seminar
Baramulla: BHSS Uri organised a virtual seminar to observe the “International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking,” a statement issued here said.
Principal Mushtaq Sopori chaired the event hosted by a teacher Abid Shafi virtually via Zoom Cloud meeting on Saturday, it added.
International Day against Drug Abuse And Illicit Trafficking is observed on June 26 every year. The day is dedicated to eradicating drug abuse and neutralising the systemic challenges which sustain the illegal drug issues.
Chief Education Officer Baramulla G.M.Lone, District Cultural Coordinator Baramulla Nazir Ahmad, Nighat Majeed, Tutor Department of Psychiatry-BN College of Nursing Jammu, Zonal Cultural Coordinator Aftab Ahmad Kakroo besides Lecturers, teachers and students graced the event virtually via Zoom Cloud meeting.
Ms. Humaira (Teacher BHSS Uri)presented the introductory speech on the day and threw a detailed light on the historic background and the significance of the day..
CEO Baramulla GM Lone while speaking on the event urged for a comprehensive mechanism to stimulate a sense of responsibility among people around us, especially youngsters and teenagers.
All the speakers highlighted the importance of drug de addiction programs and awareness events against substance abuse and illicit trafficking and urged that more informative events, prevention programs can be designed to intervene and address risk factors for drug abuse, such as aggressive behavior, poor social skills, and academic difficulties.
