Add Com Sarwar chairs transport management system meet

SRINAGAR: Additional Commissioner Kashmir Qazi Sarwar Thursday chaired a meeting of officers to review the transport management system meet.
The meeting among others was attended by SMC Commissioner, CE KPDCL, VC LAWDA, VC SDA, RD Pollution, ADC Srinagar, Custodian Kashmir, SSPs Traffic Rural and City, ARTO Srinagar, AC Nazool, SE Hydraulic and other concerned.
During the meeting, the Additional Commissioner took stock of the progress of all transport system related works.
He emphasized on proper regulation of public transport and adequate public transport is made available in all urban and rural areas of the valley.
The Additional Commissioner also stressed on making better parking facilities available at all designated spots to decongest the traffic jams in the city.
He further stressed his concern to remove all encroachments on footpaths and roads in all areas and offenders be booked under the law.
At the outset, the Ad. Com also reviews the functioning of traffic lights, removal of bottlenecks, public utilities and other related issues.
