Road accidents: A huge concern

Technology has reduced the lifestyles of man in assorted doors. The invention of the motor car, cycles, trains, aero-planes and distinct sources of transportation has deducted the travel time and gained satisfaction to mankind.
Now we can attain our destination in a short interval of time which oppositely would have taken several hours or even days. On the other hand, this has also increased the vulnerability towards road accidents. Every day, we read on social media or watch or television about road accidents occurring here and there. People get injured or even killed. There are some reasons behind the accidents.
The Vehicle to vehicle crashes
Mostly accidents have been examined to happen when a speedy vehicle collides with another speedy vehicle. More the speed of the vehicles, higher is the probability of damage to emerge during an accident.
Negligent driving
In other cases, accidents also occur due to negligence of the drivers like over speeding, avoiding traffic rules, rash driving, use of alcohol or drugs ,using cellphones, playing loud music or gossiping while driving.
Bad road conditions
Most of the roads in hilly regions of Jammu and Kashmir are in a bad shape and condition especially in rural and hilly areas. Cases of buses, private cars and other commercial vehicles falling off the roads and then falling into deep gorges or rivers are common in these areas.
Let us now focus on the impact careless driving can have
Impact of careless driving
1Loss of life: Accidents can have a little or large scale effect on human life and property sometimes in minor accidents there is no loss of life or property but in certain cases people receive major injuries or even get killed on spot.
2. Mental concussion
Even those who survive the accidents suffer from mental problems thought-out their life. They always feel a circumstance of near death experience and they may get down with sorrow. Mainly children, old people and pregnant woman fall prey to mental disturbances.
Mitigation standards
We should constantly obey safety rules while driving or walking on a road. We should always follow safety rules. Investigate and honor the traffic signals and lights to avoid rash driving.
Never use mobile phones while driving. If it’s urgent to use it, stop the vehicle. Never overtake on the wrong sides.
Use low flash light of the vehicle during darkness. Always tie seat belts while moving in a car. Wear decent quality helmets while riding a motorcycle respect the right of pedestrians, allow them to cross the road first. Always use footpaths for walking along the road.
So, life is precious, we don’t have to take risks and over accelerating doesn’t mean you are immortal.
