Police arrests three drug peddlers in Kulgam
Srinagar: Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from their possession, a police spokesman said Friday.
He said that police personnel established a checkpoint established at Bonigam crossing and intercepted three persons who on noticing police party tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully by the alert police party.
The detained persons were identified as Reshu Pal son of Kuldeep Singh resident of Pathankot, Javeed Ahmad Dar@Jani son of Mohamad Shaban Dar resident of Bonigam and Arshid Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Rashid Mir resident of Beerwah Budgam. During checking, officers were able to recover 01 Kg of Poppy Straw, 50 grams of Heroin and 25 grams of Charas from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody, the spokesman added.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 143/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been taken up, he said.
