Budgam: Personnel from the Punjab Police reportedly took a Sarapnch from Central Kashmir’s Budgam into custody on the directions of Court after the said Sarapnch allegedly failed to appear in the court from past some years in a case involving him in Punjab.
Sources said that a team from Punjab Police led by Sub-Inspector arrived in Kashmir Valley to take the accused into custody and to shift him to Punjab.
Sources added that in 2011 a man identified as Muhamamd Qasim from Ichgam Budgam who is currently a Sarpanch was booked in Punjab and subsequently he was bailed out by the court. The said person, however, didn’t bother to appear in the court of law for any hearing.
Accordingly on the directions of Punjab Court, a new FIR vide number 11/2020 under section 229A (Failure by person released on bail or bond to appear in Court) was lodged against the man at police station Mukandpur Punjab.
Sources said that the man was detained by a police party from Punjab and will be taken to Mukandpur Punjab. (KNT)
