Ayush distributes immunity boosters among people at Handwara

Handwara: The Department of Indian System of Medicines (AYUSH), unit Handwara on Thursday, organized a free medical camp at the premises of DH Handwara to distribute free ISM medicines among people, a spokesman of the department said.
The camp was inaugurated in presence of Medical Superintendent Associated GMC hospital Handwara, Dr Nisar Wani and Deputy Medical Superintendent Handwara Dr Aijaz.
A senior doctor said that on the directions of Director ISM J&K and ADMO Kupwara Dr Farooq Iqbal medical awareness camp cum ISM distribution camp was started on the first week of June and is still going on.
He said so far the ISM unit Handwara has successfully organized three (free) medical camps and ISM distribution camps in which around 700 people have given free medicines.
Besides providing immunity booster medicines the camp also provided awareness about the wearing of masks, maintaining social distance and use of hand sanitizers.
Dr Mohammad Ismail, Dr Shahijahan Wani, Dr Ayoub Marazi, Dr Seema Bashir and senior pharmacist Farooq Ahmad while taking part in the programme stressed the need for getting vaccinated and how vaccination can prove to be vital in fight against Covid-19.
During the camps hundreds of medicine, kits were given to the people to boost their immunity against the virus.
On the occasion, MS Handwara Dr Nisar Ahmad Wani and Deputy Medical Superintendent DH Handwara Dr Aijaz said that ISM Health Workers have played a vital role in the prevailing situations particularly during the Pandemic.
Meanwhile, locals of the area expressed their gratitude to ISM, ADMO kupwara Dr Farooq Iqbal and Dr Zahoor Ahmad Tantray for organizing such a camp in these difficult times.
