Anantnag: The vital Achabal-Chatabal road in Anantnag district is in very bad shape since the past many years now as locals allege that authorities have been macadamising some patches that too after years.
Locals said that the the 20 Kilometre long Achabal-Chatabal road is a very vital road link connecting dozens of villages with district headquarters Anantnag.
“But this road has been neglected by the authorities even though we have complained about it many times,” the local residents said.
They said that road has been neglected even though the road is also leading to famous tourist spot Chatabal.
They said that despite connecting various important villages with rest of the district, authorities due to unknown reasons have been taking this road for granted.
They alleged that they are suffering due to the potholed road as commuting has become extremely hard on this road link.
The local said they approached the concerned authorities several times with a plea to macadamize the road, but all in vain.
“As of now nothing has been done in this regard. We want to bring it to the notice of concerned authorities to improve the condition of the road at the earliest so that we don’t have to suffer anymore,” they said.
The locals requested LG Manoj Sinha and DC Anantnag to look into the matter at an earliest.
