World Environment Day: BHSS Uri organises virtual seminar

Baramulla: Government Boys Higher Secondary School Uri Baramulla organised a virtual seminar to celebrate World Environment Day,2021.
Principal Mushtaq Sopori chaired the event virtually via Zoom Cloud meeting hosted by Abid Shafi (Teacher BHSS URI) All the Lecturers, teachers and students of the institution and Mr Aftab Ahmad Kakroo (Zonal Cultural Coordinator Uri) participated virtually via Zoom Cloud meeting.
World Environment Day is one of the biggest annual event organised by United Nations to generate awareness about the significance of nature. This day is observed on June,5 every year to remind people about the importance of nature.
The theme for World Environment Day was “ECOSYSTEM RESTORATION”.thereby assisting in the recovery of ecosystem that have been degraded or destroyed,as well as conserving the ecosystem that are still intact.
Madam Humaira (Teacher BHSS URI) presented introductory speech and threw a detailed light on the background and significance of the day and urged to inform people that nature should not be taken for granted and must be respected for its innumerable values.
Principal Mushtaq Sopori while speaking urged for a healthier ecosystem, with richer biodiversity, that yields greater benefits. While concluding the event Principal thanked all the participants and urged to encourage awareness.
