Police arrests three persons for carrying out illegal mining
Srinagar: Police have arrested three persons involved in illegal excavation and transportation of clay and also seized three vehicles used in transportation of illegally extracted clay, a police spokesman said Friday.
He said that a police party during night patrolling seized three tippers loaded with illegally extracted clay and arrested three drivers for transportation of the material. The drivers have been identified as Sahil Ahmad Sofi son of Mohammad Ramzan Sofi resident of Hajibagh Soibugh, Sameer Ahmad Chopan son of Abdul Gani Chopan resident of Hajibagh Soibugh and Mohammad Yousuf Shah son of Mohammad Akbar Shah resident of Hajibagh Soibugh.
They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody. All vehicles used in the commission of the crime have also been seized, the spokesman added.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 113/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Magam and investigation has been initiated, he added.
