CEO ERA, JTFRP inspects works on 120 bedded Specialized B&J hospital
SRINAGAR: Chief Executive Officer, J&K Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA), Jhelum Tawi Flood Recovery Project (JTFRP), Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Wednesday inspected progress on construction of 120 bedded Specialized Orthopaedic Unit (additional hospital block) at Bone and Joint Hospital, Barzulla.
Pertinently, the prestigious project has been taken up under the component “Critical Infrastructure” of JTFRP funded by the World Bank.
While inspecting the ongoing works, Dr. Abid directed the concerned officers to work in double shifts with full focus on quality parameters of the project ensuring timely completion. He asked the executing agency to ensure completion of the works on ground floor of the building before June end.
Dr. Abid, while enquiring about the technical specifications of the building, directed the concerned engineers that the technical and quality parameters should be checked on regular basis for effective implementation. He also directed the executing agency to initiate the process for procuring necessary medical infrastructure for the hospital which is part of the composite tender given to NPCC Limited. He asked the officers to constitute a committee of specialized doctors for vetting technical specifications and other requirements for procurement of medical equipments and other related items.
CEO was informed that the building will be G+4 structure with 120 beds capacity as well as technically advanced modular Operation theatres, pre-operative and post-operative units which will considerably augment the infrastructure of the valley’s largest centre for the orthopedic care.
Pertinently, JTFRP, which is part of PM’s development package, has received major fillip in implementation in the last one year which has been recognized in various tripartite review meetings between the World Bank, the Department of Economic Affairs and the government of J&K.
