Police arrests two more Drug Peddlers

Budgam, June 02: Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers here in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
In a statement the police said that continuing its efforts against drug peddlers and its propagators, a naka was established near Durbugh Chadoora during the intervening night of 01-02 June, naka party during checking intercepted a Santro car bearing registration number JK04B 3653 with two persons on board. During search, 198 bottles of controlled drug Codeine Phosphate was recovered from them. The duo was arrested on the spot and vehicle used for transportation of drugs was also seized.
The statement further said that the arrested drug peddlers have been identified as Shah Jahan Farooq son of Farooq Ahmad resident of Chadoora and Irfan Ahmad Bhat son of Mohd Sultan resident of Durbagh Chadoora.
In this regard, Case FIR number 82/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Chadoora and further investigation initiated, they said.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding anti-social activities in their vicinity, reads the statement. (GNS)
