Anantnag: The residents of Chree Panzgam village in Larnoo Kokernag belt of Anantnag district are up in arms against the administration for failing to provide basic facilities for the locals living in the area.
Locals said that the area has been completely neglected as there is no proper road connectivity, no water supply besides network connectivity in the area.
Ishfaq Ahmad, a local resident said that Larnoo Chree road which around 10 km in length is in a dilapidated condition and locals are facing lot of problems especially during winter months while commuting on the road.
He said that condition of road is so such that no vehicle can play on this road.
Abdul Gaffar, another local resident said that even in 21st century, the area has no drinking water facility.
He said this village has never got piped water and locals have to go by foot or on horses travelling several kilometres to bring water from a canal.
He said the several people in the area have received injuries as they slipped while carrying drinking water.
Students from the area said that amid the covid-19 pandemic, they are unable to attend the online classes as there is no cellular network connectivity provided to the area.
They said that even in 21st century, they have to go to Larnoo to call any relatives or friends.
Locals said that many a times, they have brought this issue to the notice of higher ups but to no avail.
Politicians as well as government officials haven’t given us anything except fake promises and assurances, they added.
They requested LG Manoj Sinha, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and DC Anantnag to look into the matter and provide basic facilities to the area.
