Youth from Kulgam goes missing, family seeks his whereabouts

Anantnag: A youth from south Kashmir’s Kulgam area has gone missing from his home, reports said Friday.
Family members of the 21-year-old missing youth from Mirhama village urged their son to return home and appealed the administration to help them in tracing him.
The youth, identified as Uzair Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohammad Maqbool Bhat, resident of Mirhama village in Kulgam district who is a BA pass out is missing since 26 May 2021.
His father, Mohammed Maqbool Bhat, said that soon after he left home, they tried to call him several times but his phone was switched off.
“We called our relatives and his friends but could not find him,” he said while appealing authorities to help them in tracing him.
After failing to trace him, the family has filed a missing report at the Police station Kulgam and urged the police to help them in tracing him.
The family has also appealed the militant organizations to let him go back to his family in case he has joined them.
A police officer said that efforts are on to trace him and bring him back.
He added that six youth from Kulgam have joined militant ranks so far this year.
