Shah Hudaif
Hijab isn’t just the piece of cloth on the head, but it means to cover the entire body in a modest way. Most of our sisters don’t know how to wear hijab. There’re a total of seven conditions to a proper hijab.
The first condition is that the clothing must cover the entire body. After that we must ensure that the material used in clothing must not be so thin that one can see through it.
The clothing must hang loose so that the body shape or form isn’t apparent. The female clothing must not resemble the man’s clothing. Also it should not resemble the clothing of a non-believing woman.
The design must not consist of bold designs which may become an attraction and source of attention. The clothing should not be worn for the sole purpose of gaining reputation.
When a woman follows these conditions, she’s protected from the lustful gaze of men. She should not attract attention to herself in any way. In the present society, woman folk is being exploited, openly used for advertisements just to attract the desires of men.
Is the woman really secure in modern society. The answer is No, she totaly isn’t. The constant bombardments by the media concerning the looks and dresses of ideal women testifies to this.
Islam liberated woman over fourteen hundred years ago. Is it better to dress according to Creator or according to the perfectly imperfect, flawed people.
A woman should not express her beauty in front of men impermissible to her. She should lower her gaze and guard her modesty. They should draw their veils upon their bosoms. A veiled woman will be rewarded continuously for wearing a veil, head cover and modest clothing and the rewards will be as huge as the mountains.
It should be kept in mind that not only women are ordered to lower gaze but men are to do the same in front of women impermissible to them. They should cover their bodies from abdomen to knees necessarily and shouldn’t expose these areas.
In the modern era, short pants are common among men ,but if they’re above your knees or expose them ,then they aren’t permissible Islamically. May we all, especially the youth of today’s time be blessed with guidance so that every folk of society lives safely.(adapted)
