Woman ends life, jumps into river Jhelum
Srinagar: An unidentified woman on Thursday allegedly committed suicide by jumping into river Jhelum at Safa Kadal area of Srinagar, officials said.
Officials said that the locals have informed them that an unidentified woman jumped into river Jhelum at Safa Kadal at around 06:00 PM.
“A police team reached the spot following which the rescue operation was launched. There are no traces of the woman so far while the operation was put on halt for a night,” an official said.
He added that the rescue operation will be launched again tomorrow, adding that there is no identification of the woman so far while no one has filed a missing report in this regard. (KNO)
