Miscreants ‘dig’ turf of sports stadium in Anantnag
Anantnag: Unknown miscreants have dug the surface of a sports stadium in Sadoora area of Anantnag leaving sports lovers dejected, reports said.
They said that some unknown persons have dug the whole turf of the ground and left it in a very bad condition.
They said that youth from at least half a dozen nearby villages were playing there and during Covid-19, they were following Covid appropriate behaviour while playing but some miscreants have damaged whole ground.
In order to remain physically fit and far away from drugs, sports are must and locals were playing there but all youths of the area are dejected now as there is no other ground available where they can play, a local resident said.
“I was playing in this ground from last twenty years and by digging this ground, they have left all of us in very depressed conditions,” Rouf Ahmad, another local resident said.
“This is very disgraceful that we have been left without a ground now,” he added.
The sports lovers have requested the concerned authorities to look into the matter at an earliest and take action against the involved persons.
They also requested them to help the youth to repair the ground so that they can once again play there to remain physically fit and stay away from drugs.
