Arampora-Awantipora residents seek repairing of vital road

Pulwama: The residents Arampora hamlet in the Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district are up in arms against the authorities as the bad condition of the road is giving them tough time.
Locals said that it becomes difficult even for light motor vehicles to negotiate through the stretch and despite several reminders to the concerned authorities in the past, nothing has been done to repair the road.
“The villagers face difficulties while travelling on this road, which originates from Tral-Awantipora road to Khankah via Arampora,” a local resident said, adding that the condition of the road is pathetic.
He said that during winters or rainy season the locals face hardships and use alternative ways to reach their destination.
The residents meanwhile demanded repair work to the village’s main road saying that the bad condition of the road is giving a tough time to the inhabitants of the village.
“We have brought this issue into the notice of concerned higher ups several times but nothing on ground has happened as of now,” Bashir Ahmad, a local resident said.
He said that government must repair the road on priority so that the people witness some ease while commuting.
