Srinagar: The employees hired under Hospital Development Fund(HDF) are feeling neglected as they were not included in the list of health workers who will be provided incentives for being part of the corona warriors brigade.
The employees said that they are also working as the Covid-19 warriors but government has neglected them by not including them in the list for whom incentives have been announced.
“We are posted at hospitals and are working as Covid warriors with a meager salary of 1500-3000 but authorities have completely ignored us,” they said.
There are around 2100 HDF employees working in different hospitals. They are attached with various sections like other paramedical staff but due to unknown reasons these workers were neglected.
“Despite working round the clock and giving our 100 percent in the fight against the deadly virus, we have been neglected,” said a HDF employee.
He said that we were expecting that HDF employees will be included in the list but we felt very depressed upon knowing that we have been dropped.
“We even get salaries after four five months and most of us had to feed large families but the government has neglected our work by excluding us,” he added.
The workers requested the government to look into the matter and include them in the list as well.
The employees urged the J-K administration, particularly Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to look into the matter and regularize the HDF employees.
Recently, the Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had approved special financial incentives for COVID-19 Warriors of Health and Medical Education Department.
The decision will benefit more than 17,000 Corona warriors including resident doctors, medical officers, paramedical/nursing staff, drivers and class IV employees.
The incentive will be Rs 10,000 per month for resident doctors, PGs and Medical Officers, Rs 7,000 per month for nursing and paramedical staff, and Rs 5,000 per month for drivers, sweepers and attendants..
