3614 new cases, 56 fresh deaths reported

Srinagar: For the first time since past two weeks, Jammu and Kashmir recorded a slight dip in the Covid positive cases as 3,614 were reported on Monday while as 56 fresh deaths were also recorded, officials said.
The total number of total active cases in J&K has risen to 49,551 while with 56 fresh death, the death toll has reached 3614. The total positive case tally has reached 220,546.
Officials said that this was for the first time that that JK has seen a slight dip in the positive cases in the past two weeks as only 3614 positive cases were reported. On May 9 JK recorded over 5190 cases, highest ever since the outbreak of pandemic.
Interestingly, Srinagar, the summer capital, that even saw record spike over 1100 positive cases recorded an all time low 701 positive cases, in the past two weeks. Srinagar is witnessing complete Corona curfew since past 11 days. Officials are hopeful that the district witnesses decline in positivity rate in the weeks ahead.
Of the exact number of 220,546 cases, 136,018 are from Kashmir division and 84,528 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 3,614 new cases, 2,118 belong to Kashmir division while as 1,496 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 136,018 including 102,144 recoveries and 1,572 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 84,669 including 65,669 recoveries and 1,210 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 49,951 including 32,302 from Kashmir division and 17,649 from Jammu division.
With 2,855 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 167,813 which is 76.08 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 701 from Srinagar, 163 from Baramulla, 343 from Budgam, 135 from Pulwama, 187 from Kupwara, 134 from Anantnag, 65 from Bandipora, 76 from Ganderbal, 254 from Kulgam and 60 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 1,496 from Jammu division include 658 from Jammu, 137 from Udhampur, 170 from Rajouri, 34 from Doda, 146 from Kathua, 158 from Samba, 11 from Kishtwar, 57 from Poonch, 50 from Ramban and 75 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Out of 56 deaths reported today, 23 died in GMC Jammu. 01 in MCH Wing (GMC), 02 in GMC Rajouri, 02 in GMC Kathua, 03 in SSH Jmu, 02 in DH Udhampur, 01 in MH Satwari, 01 in CHC Katra, 05 in Home/ Brought Dead, 03 in SKIMS Soura. 05 in SMHS Sgr, 01 in CD Hosp Sgr. 03 in SKIMS JVC Bemina. 01 in DH Pulwama, 01 in GMC Anantnag, 01 in CHC Kupwara. & 01 in TH Bijbehara.
As per officials figures, 53,835 positive cases including 622 deaths and 42,065 recoveries are from Srinagar, 16,567 including 212 deaths and 12,467 recoveries are from Baramulla, 14,262 including 10,468 recoveries and 144 deaths are from Budgam, 9,137 including 6,767 recoveries and 122 deaths are from Pulwama, 8,536 including 110 deaths and 6,713 recoveries are from Kupwara, 10,328 including 6,436 recoveries and 121 deaths are from Anantnag, 6,306 cases including 5,474 and 69 deaths are from Bandipora, 6,355 including 5,323 recoveries and 56 deaths are from Ganderbal, 6,666 including 3,576 recoveries and 72 deaths are from Kulgam and 4,026 including 2,855 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 40,595 including 32,279 recoveries and 686 deaths are from Jammu district, 7,679 including 6,192 recoveries and 77 deaths are from Udhampur, 6,786 including 4,051 recoveries and 99 deaths are from Rajouri, 4,166 including 3,623 recoveries and 71 deaths are from Doda, 6,169 including 4,699 recoveries and 77 deaths are from Kathua, 4,890 including 3,117 recoveries and 69 deaths are from Samba, 3,198 including 2,942 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Kishtwar, 3,691 including 2,785 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Poonch, 3,273 including 2,555 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Ramban and 4,081 including 3,426 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 1,918,562 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 87,062 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 49,951 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 1,645,533 persons have completed surveillance period and 133,234 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 7,689,823 samples are available. Out of 7,689,823 the number of samples tested negative stands at 7,469,277 while as 220,546 have tested positive, among them 49,951 persons are active, 167,813 persons have recovered and 2,782 persons have died.
