Two youth from Kulgam go missing, families ask for their return
Anantnag: Two youth belonging to south Kashmir’s Shopian district have gone missing some 10 days back and the families have failed to trace them, reports said.
The two missing youth have been identified as Basit Ahmad Dar (25) son of Late Abdul Rashid Dar resident of Redwani Kulgam and Aamir Bashir (22) @Daniyal son of Bashir Dar resident of Kujjar Frisal area which is around 4 kms from Redwani.
The family members of the missing youth said that they left for some work and said that they will return soon. However, none turned up even after 10 days have passed.
Basit is missing from 25 April and Aamir is missing from around last two weeks.
The family members said that they contacted all our neighbours, relatives and even their friends but couldn’t get any clue about them.
Both the families have now registered separate missing reports with the concerned police stations.
Family members of Basit said that his father died just a month back and the entire family was already in shock.
Locals said that Basit had received bullet injury during clashes around three years back and now he was running a shop after passing his class 12th examination.
He is left behind two brothers, two sisters and his mother, they said.
Aamir a school dropout was a working as a labour now, his family members said.
Families of both missing youth have appealed them to return home and appealed administration and public to help them in tracing the duo.
A senior police officer confirmed that missing report of the duo has been filed and it is likely that both have joined militant ranks, however, efforts are on to trace them, he added.
