Covid-19: 0ver 100 patients, all on oxygen support admitted at DH Pulwama

Situation very grim, people must follow Covid appropriate behavior: Nodal officer

Pulwama: With the surge in Covid-19 cases, the district hospital in Pulwama was declared Covid Care hospital and around 100 Covid positive patients have been admistted at the facility since then, officials said
Nodal officer for Covid-19 at District Hospital Pulwama Dr Gowhar Nabi said that aground 100 patients are admitted at the hospital and 08 Covid positive patients have died so far in the second wave.
He said that situation is very grim as all patients admitted are on oxygen support as most of them are infected with bilateral pneumonia.
He said that 70 persons who also were suffering from pneumonia have recovered and accordingly discharged from the hospital.
He added that situation is very alarming as number of patients suffering from pneumonia is increasing with each passing day.
He said that the OPD has been closed and all important facilities including gynaecology and pediatric wards have been shifted to private nursing home from where surgeries are being conducted.
People must adhere to the Covid appropriate behavior as the second wave is spreading six times faster than the first wave, he said
People must avoid unnecessary roaming and visits to health care facilities besides that people must prefer to stay indoors and avoid indoor gatherings at any cost.
He requested people to stay at home for at least 15 days and not move around unless it is urgent.
“This way only we can break the otherwise the costs that we will have to pay will be huge,” he added.
