Achabal youth goes missing, family appeals for return

Anantnag: A youth from Achabal area of Anantnag district has gone missing since 18 April while as his family has appealed him to return back to his home.
Basit Ahmad Ganaie son of Abdul Rashid Ganaie, a resident of Aadsu village in Achabal area has left home on April 18 and since then there are no traces of him.
Abdul Rashid Ganaie, the youth’s father said that on April 18, he told us that he has to go Srinagar to lead prayers there as he used to lead prayers since many years now.
He said that few hours after he left home, they called him continuously but his phone was switched off following which we started searching for him.
“We have been searching for him since the last 13 days but there are no traces of him as we have contacted all relatives, his friends and others but haven’t got any clue,” Abdul Rashid said.
“After failing to trace him, we have also lodged his missing report at the concerned police station 10 days back but as of now there is no information from the police as well,” he added.
His family members requested all including police, administration, militants and others saying that if he has been detained he may be let free.
The family also appealed the administration and the police to help them to trace their missing ward.
Meanwhile, a police official confirmed that a missing report has been filed and efforts are on to trace him.
