Man from Awantipora goes missing, family appeals admin for help

Anantnag: A 45-year-old man from Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district is missing from last one month as his family say that all their efforts to trace him have failed. The family has now appealed to administration and public to help them in tracing him.
Manzoor Ahmad Wani (45) a resident of Gulzarpora village of the district according to his family has gone missing since March 25 this year.
Gulshana Banoo, wife of the missing man said that on 25th March she had gone to attend her office and her husband calledher at least three times and asked about her well being.
“After 4 pm, when I reached home, I saw my four year old son crying and asking for his father who he said left him alone. I called Manzoor on his cell phone and he said that he will be back in ten minutes, but he never returned,” she said.
“Later on after some time passed we tried his number several times but he wasn’t receiving call and later his phone went off and since then there are no traces of him,” she said.
“We contacted all his friends, relatives and locals for around one fortnight but couldn’t get any clue about him,” she added.
“On 11 April, we lodged his missing report at the concerned police station but since then one more fortnight has passed but there are no whereabouts about him,” she said.
Manzoor Ahmad, a sawmill owner is father of three children which includes two daughters and one son.
His wife said that Manzoor was upset since last year because due to pandemic, he wasn’t available to earn any money.
“He was fine now but we fail to understand as to what happened to him and he left his family like this,” Gulshana added.
She along with her children and relatives have now requested the civil administration, police and public to help them in tracing him.
