Sopore Police continues drive against COVID-19 violations

Sopore: In order to discourage hoardings, over pricing and keeping in view the surge in covid-19 cases, the drive against Covid-19 violators continued in Sopore on Thursday, a police spokesman said.
He said that the drive was held in Sopore and Bomai to ensure that people adhere to SOPs/ guidelines envisaged by government to curb COVID-19 pandemic and also to discourage hoarding and over pricing by traders.
During the drive, 50 persons including drivers, pedestrians, shopkeepers, passengers and others were fined for not wearing face masks and not following SoPs of covid19 containment measures.
The drive is aimed to ensure wearing of face masks and following other mandated SoPs besides focussing on smooth supply of essential commodities during the holy month of Ramadhan, the spokesman added.
He also appealed the people of Sopore to adhere to the guidelines/SoPs with regard to Covid-19 and wearing of face masks.
