Pulwama: Even the month of Ramadan started in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday the unscheduled power cuts seem to continue in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Locals said that authorities had assured people of providing all facilities in the month of Ramadan but in Tral and adjoining areas they have been resorting to unscheduled power cuts is creating problems for the residents.
“Unscheduled cuts during Ramadan have increased manifold and claims of authorities on ground are proving a hoax,” they said.
People alleged that power cuts have become more frequent during the Iftar and Sehri time.
“We do not get power supply during Iftar and Sehri time,” said Rameez, a local resident of Tral.
Basharat Ahmad, another resident of Tral said that PDD authorities have failed to mitigate the power crisis in Tral as power cuts were witnessed continuously during the holy month of Ramadan.
He said that people are facing hardships with each passing day, but no power schedule is being followed by the department.
The residents have sought immediate attention of higher ups into the matter and demanded an end to power cuts.
Locals said that if the department won’t resort to rescheduled power supply, they will be forced to come on the roads.
ADC Tral, SA Raina, when contacted assured that he will take up the issue with PDD officials and every possible step will be taken to ensure electricity as per schedule in the area.
