Admin distributes free masks among worshippers in Bandipora

BANDIPORA: The District Administration Bandipora while continuing its awareness and sensitization campaign regarding Covid-19, distributed free masks among people before Friday prayers outside various mosques.
On the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad, Tehsildar Bandipora Mubashir Saleem Nazki along with his team distributed more than 5000 masks among people who were on way to offer Friday prayers in various prominent mosques of Town Bandipora.
The teams lead by Tehsildar Bandipora, instead of imposing fines on the people who were not wearing masks, distributed free masks with the warning to remain careful in future with regards to use of masks and also asked them to adopt covid appropriate behavior and social distancing to avoid contracting virus.
During the campaign, the revenue officers also appealed to the people to maintain social distance in Masjid while praying and also urged them to use masks at public places.
The Team earlier in the day also conducted market inspections to check reasonability of rates and availability of rates of essential commodities and imposed a fine of Rs 5000/- on erring shopkeepers/traders.
