GMC Jammu refutes news report

JAMMU: Government Medical College Jammu has rebutted a news report in a media under the Caption ‘Nearly 40% posts of doctors lying vacant in GMC & AH’.
Terming the new story baseless and concocted, the GMC Jammu has clarified that multiple selections/advertisements have been made for the engagement of Faculty, Registrars/ Demonstrators on academic arrangements basis in terms of various previous SROs and the latest one framed vide SRO-364 to meet the short fall of Faculty/Registrars/Demonstrators/paramedical staff.
Giving the details regarding filling up of the posts, the Principal GMC Shashi Sudan said that in total 77 posts of Faculty were filled to meet the short fall of Faculty in the last two years.
She informed that various Advertisements for filling up of the posts of Registrars /Demonstrators were issued and posts filled accordingly. A total of 100 Registrars/ Demonstrators posts were filled to meet the shortfall of Registrars/Demonstrators in this institution, she informed.
The Principal GMC further informed in total 300 Paramedical & Nursing Staff Posts were filled to meet the shortfall of Paramedical & Nursing Staff in this institution out of which 75 Paramedical and Nursing Staff have been recruited under SRO-364 and 125 Nursing Staff and 100 Nursing Orderlies have been recruited through NHM.
She further informed that 74 posts of Lecturers of GMC & Super Speciality Hospital, Jammu were referred to the Administrative Department and interviews for some posts have already been conducted whereas interviews for some posts are going to be held in near future besides some Lecturers have already joined this institution. She also intimated that this office is going to advertise the posts of Professor/Assoc. Professor/Asstt. Professor on academic arrangement basis.
