Plains receive light rains across Kashmir

Srinagar: Parts of Kashmir experienced fresh snowfall while light rainfall was experienced in plains of the Valley on Monday, bringing the temperature down across Kashmir. Meanwhile, the weatherman here predicted more rains and snow till April 07.
Reports said that several higher reaches in north Kashmir including the world famous ski-resort Gulmarg and Ladakh Union Territory received fresh snowfall on Monday.
The light rains were recorded in plains of the Valley today in morning as well as in evening hours.
Weatherman, however, has predicted widespread light to moderate rains and snow across Kashmir in the next two days.
In the weather advisory, the Meteorological department has stated that the wet weather conditions in the next two days may lead to disruption of surface traffic. The advisory added that the weather conditions can also lead to landslides and shooting stones on NH 44 and NH1d.
“The water logging in low laying areas of Kashmir valley may also be witnessed during the next two days,” the advisory reads.
Meanwhile, the day temperature in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir was recorded at 17.8 degrees Celsius while night temperature was recorded at 7.2 degrees Celsius.
Maximum temperature in Gulmarg was recorded at 8.7 degrees Celsius while minimum temperature witnessed an increase as compared to last night and settled at 0.5 degrees Celsius. (KNO)
