Pulwama youth shines in boxing Championship, bags bronze medal

Pulwama: A youth from south Kashmir’s Pulwama district has brought laurels by bagging a bronze medal in state boxing championship held at Jammu.
Hafiz Mohammed Asif, a resident of Naina village of Litter Tehsil in south Kashmir Pulwama district had earlier won many medals in different martial art forms.
Asif said that he is very happy after winning a bronze medal in the state level boxing championship that was help in MA Stadium Jammu.
He thanked his parents and coaches for the support and help provided to win medals in different martial art forms.
“Winning bronze medal wasn’t easy as over 2000 players from all over J&K participated in this event which was held in last week of March,” he said.
He said that he is hopeful that he will perform well in upcoming events.
Notably, Asif has participated in World Hakuki Karate championship 2019 in Tokyo Japan.
He also got a silver Medal in 22nd J&K state Level Taekwondo championship 2020. He got silver medal in 9th South Asian Karate Championship 2019 in New Delhi and has also secured a silver medal in 11th open state level Taekwondo championship 2018.
His medal tally does not end here as he got a silver Medal in J&K state kick boxing in 2017. He also participated in 3rd international day of yoga 2017, besides participating in 7S state level Rugby Championship.
Hafiz has also participated in many other sports events and championships where he has many medals and certificates.
He added that he is also training dozens of students in different forms of martial arts so that they get involved in physical activities and stay away from those things that have harmed the society and youth in particular.
