Plantation drive held at Islamia College Sgr

SRINAGAR: The NSS Unit III of Islamia College of Science and Commerce Srinagar Thursday organized a plantation drive within the college premises.
Prof. Musavir Ahmed, Chief NSS Coordinator University of Kashmir was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He appreciated the efforts of the NSS Volunteers for planting different kinds of saplings of Deodar species to enhance the green cover within the institution.
Speaking at the event, the Principal of the College Prof. (Dr.) Sheikh Ajaz Bashir highlighted the importance of plantation drive for a clean and green environment.
Besides NSS volunteers, senior faculty members planted saplings of Deodar plants at MBA, Library, Examination and Computer Application Lawns with an active coordination and participation of the gardeners from the Botany Department.
Meanwhile, the drive witnessed an overwhelming participation from staff and NSS volunteers besides others.
