Daily wagers in forest division Langate demand release of wages

Handwara: The daily wagers of Forest Division Langate alleged that the authorities did not release their long pending dues despite funds being transferred for the purpose.
They said their wages were released after eight months on March 25/26 but was not disbursed into their accounts.
“We are getting only Rs 6,750 per month but due to callous attitude of the concerned officer the salary is yet to be credit into our accounts and unfortunately we have to wait further,” a daily wager, who wished not to be named said.
He also said that they have informed the concerned officer but he cites some technical reasons for the delay.
The daily wagers questioned that when the bills of contractors were released, how their salary bill get stuck in the process.
Meanwhile, DFO Langate, Abdul Hameed Malla cited technical faults for delay in release of dues to the daily rated workers. However he failed to give comment when asked why such technical glitches did not affect the other bills that were released for payments.
Conservator north Kashmir, Irfan Rasool said he is not aware about the matter, however assured that he will look into it.
