Houseboat Association Prez Haji Abdul Hameed Wangnoo dies

Srinagar: President Houseboat Owners Association, Haji Abdul Hamid Wangnoo passed away on Friday. Several political leaders expressed grief over his demise.
National Conference (NC) President and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah expressed grief over the demise of Haji Abdul Hameed Wangnoo.
In a condolence message, the duo as per a statement issued said that the demise of Wangnoo has created a deep void in the tourism industry.
They said the deceased worked for safeguarding the interests of people associated with the tourism sector particularly House boat owners. They prayed for peace to the soul of the deceased and much needed strength to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
Among others, Party’s General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani also expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Wangnoo. The functionaries prayed for peace to the soul of the deceased and much needed strength to the bereaved family.
Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari expressed deep condolences over the demise of Haji Abdul Hamid Wangnoo.
In a condolence message issued here, Bukhari said that the demise of Wangnoo has brought profound shock especially to those who are affiliated with the tourism sector.
“His absence will be deeply felt as he was a thorough gentleman who had envisioned promoting J & K tourism far and wide,” Bukhari said.
He prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
CPI (M) leader Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami also expressed deep shock and grief over the demise of Abdul Hamid Wagnoo.
Late Wangnoo was associated with tourism industry and promoting Kashmir tourism very vigorously, Tarigami said and extended his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family.
