Bootlegger held along with illicit liquor in Sopore
Sopore: Police on Thursday arrested a notorious bootlegger during a naka checking in Sangrama area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, a police spokesman said.
He said that a police team laid a naka at national highway Sangrama Sopore and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK04B-9591 and during checking of the vehicle recovered 22 bottles of illicit liquor.
He said that preliminary investigation reveals the identity of accused person as Farooq Ahmad Ganie S/O Ghulam Nabi Ganie of Langate Handwara who was arrested and the vehicle used in commission of crime was also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 20/2021 U/S 48 E Act has been registered at Police station Tarzoo Sopore and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
