Weatherman predicts improvement from today

Srinagar: The overnight heavy rainfall in most parts of the Valley brought the mercury further down while some parts of the higher reaches continued to receive snowfall for the second consecutive day on Tuesday.
However, the local weatherman here has predicted significant improvement in weather conditions from today afternoon and said that the overall improvement in the weather conditions would be witnessed from March 25.
The Valley received rainfall from Sunday while as the local Meteorological department here had issued weather advisory stating that heavy rain and snowfall would occur across Jammu and Kashmir on March 22 and March 23.
“Although as per the forecast, the rains would continue intermittently in the night, but there is possibility of significant improvement in the prevalent weather conditions from Wednesday afternoon,” Director MeT, Sonum Lotus said.
He said that the overall weather conditions would improve from Thursday, adding that from March 25 (Thursday)-March 28, they are expecting dry weather across Kashmir.
Lotus further informed that as per the forecast, there is possibility of light rainfall on March 29, but overall the whole week would remain mainly dry. Lotus informed that the temperature would also go up in the coming days.
During the four-day dry weather conditions, he said that the farmers can go to their orchards for spraying of chemicals and other purposes.
Meanwhile, normal life got affected for the second straight day due to the intermittent rainfall as the street vendors and others couldn’t install their carts to earn their livelihood, while the inundation of the roads affected the smooth passage to the commuters as well as the pedestrians. (KNO)
