The aggrieved residents said that they have not been provided electricity for a last seven days, as the transformer of the area has developed a technical snag disrupting the power supply in the area.
They said that there are around 60 households who are connected to the transformer and they have been requesting the authorities to provide one more transformer in the area.
They said that the transformer is developing technical snag frequently, which clearly shows that it’s not sufficient to cater to the electricity needs of the area.
They said that the transformer is lying at Shopian workshop where they have been visiting frequently but except assurances nothing is being done to rid us of our troubles.
They said that if the transformer won’t be repaired at an earliest, they will be forced to come to roads.
They added that they are facing lot of problems in absence of electricity.
The residents demanded intervention of higher ups and said that necessary steps should be taken to ensure scheduled power supply to the area.
An official of the PDD said that the transformer is being repaired and will be installed back this week.
