Parents protest against ‘Unwarranted Closure’ of School in Kalaroos
Kupwara: Dozens of parents staged a protest demonstration against authorities over ‘unwarranted closure’ of a Primary School in Kalaroos of north-Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Reports said that the agitated parents alleged that the school at Kanipora has remained closed for two consecutive days, even as the school authorities, according to them, ‘failed to justify the unwarranted closure.’
“Our wards have been waiting for nearly two years now to go to schools, but when the time came it is the school authorities who are taking these little souls for a ride”, they said.
When contacted Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Khumriyal said that he has deputed teachers to the school. However the official was unable to justify as to why the school remained closed for two consecutive days.
Meanwhile, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Abdul Hamid Fanie said that he was out of station and once back will look into the matter accordingly. (GNS)
