Frislan Pahalgam residents rue lack of basic amenities
Anantnag: The residents of Frislan village in Pahalgam belt of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district rued lack of basic amenities in the area.
The residents of the area said the Frislan village which is located around 8 Kms from Pahalgam has no transport facility available to the area due to which locals are suffering.
They said that people in the area are mostly labourers and have to go to various places to earn their livelihood but in absence of transport facilities they are facing lot of problems.
They added that in case of emergency, they have to carry patients on their shoulders for several miles and on way many patients lose their lives.
They said that they apprised government authorities several times to start a sumo cab or a bus service from Pahalgam to Frislan but to no avail.
They further added that if service will be started the local labourers will find job avenues outside district as well to earn their livelihood.
The local residents said that school going children have to walk 16 Kms on daily basis to reach their schools.
“Walking through the forest in not safe as many people in the area were attacked by wild animals several times. We are always concerned about the safety of our children,” Mohammad Hussain, a local resident said.
He further added that water and electricity facilities in the area are also unscheduled and the residents get to see electricity for few hours only.
The locals once again requested higher ups to look into their grievances and provide basic facilities to the area.
