DLSA, Srinagar organises programme to observe International Women’s Day

SRINAGAR: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) in collaboration with Directorate of School Education, Kashmir Monday organized a programme to observe the International Womens Day at Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Kothibagh here.
Judge, J&K High Court, Executive Chairman, J&K Legal Services Authority, Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Among others present were Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Abdul Rashid Malik, Director School Education, Kashmir Mohammad Younis Malik, Principal Magistrate, Juvenile Justice Board Srinagar, Tabasum Qadir Parray, Secretary, DLSA, Srinagar, Adnan Sayeed, CEO, Srinagar, Dy CEO Srinagar Principal Kothibagh GGHSS, Principal, GGHSS, Nawakadal, Faculty Members and Students.
While highlighting the strength, abilities, rights and duties of the women, Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey said that the sole basis for the existence of the world is Women. He said the equality of women exists in our faith and beliefs.
Justice Magrey said women around the world are ahead of men in achieving the goals. He also said coexistence is the law of land and the very basis of our constitution is equality of all human beings.
While terming female students as ambassadors of social change and awareness, Justice Magrey invited students to think for their positive role in society to eliminate social injustices and other evils.
Further, he said that he has prepared a paper based on the various constitutional provisions and directed the officers present there to distribute the same among the students.
Director School Education, Kashmir, Mohammad Younus Malik, at the onset of his speech congratulated all the students who qualified the 12th Class Examination, yesterday, especially female students who came out with flying colors and secured top positions in the result.
He said in the contemporary times women are leading the world through the challenges and showing the way to others. He cited the various living examples of women leaders including Prime Minister of New Zealand who handled the covid pandemic in a much better way.
He told the participants that women should know that they can be the game changers in the society.
Principal District and Sessions Judge, Abdul Rashid Malik while mentioning the various sections of the laws which give women their rights and protection said that no one is permitted to harass and suppress women in any form at any place. As a part of the judiciary, he assured that no one shall have to be discriminated against and vouched for the judiciary’s commitment for the equal rights of women.
Earlier while welcoming the dignitaries, Principal GGHSS Kothibagh presented various statistics of women education, empowerment and role in the developing countries.
On the occasion, the students also presented a skit to highlight the changing roles of a woman in a family and the challenges she is facing.
Meanwhile, Dignitaries present on the occasion were presented with mementos while students were facilitated with awards.
