Larnoo residents protest shortage of teaching staff at middle school

Anantnag: Residents of Hallan Larnoo area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday staged a protest against School Education Department for failing to provide teaching staff to Govt Middle School Hallan Larnoo.
The residents raised slogans against education department and said that the future of their children studying in the school is dark as authorities have failed to provide adequate staff to the school from the last several years.
They said that there are just two teachers for over one hundred student.
“How will two teachers maintain and be able to teach around 100 students studying in different classes,” the protesting residents said.
They said that they have raised this issue with concerned authorities several times but nothing happened on ground and students of the area continue to suffer.
“Only two teachers are posted here in our middle school where over 100 students are enrolled. This is sheer injustice with our children,” Shakeel Ahmad, a local resident said.
Residents requested CEO Anantnag and ZEO Vailoo to look into the matter as soon as possible and post more teachers at the school at an earliest.
Zonal educational officer Vailoo Aijaz Ahmad acknowledged that they have scarcity of teaching staff in the zone.
“But we still we will try our best to depute more teacher at middle school Hallan so that the students do not face any hardships,” he said.
Chief Education Officer Anantnag Abdul Rub Shaad said that adequate staff will be posted at the school before opening of schools.
