Jmu-Sgr highway blocked by landslide near Banihal
Srinagar, Mar 3: The Jammu-Srinagar national highway has been closed for traffic on Wednesday morning after a massive landslide hit Shabanbas area of Banihal, officials said.
An official of the disaster management tweeted that ‘The #Srinagar-#Jammu #NHW is blocked since 3am today, due to a #landslide/#mudslide at Shabanbas #Banihal. One Oil Tanker is also stuck at the site. Clearance is in progress.
Meanwhile, hundreds of vehicles have lined up along the highway and are waiting for a green signal to cross the road, officials added.
